A Guide to Ethical Shopping

Being a conscientious consumer can be difficult; wasteful fast fashion stores are everywhere while clothing and home goods that are both ethically produced and stylish are seemingly nonexistent. So I decided to do some legwork. After a whole lot of web browsing, I’ve compiled a reference list to make conscientious shopping easier for myself and for anyone else who wants to preserve their environment and help their fellow human beings.

I’ve divided this list into three categories: clothing and accessories (online); home goods, beauty, and miscellaneous (online); and physical stores (by city). The last category is the sparsest one, but I’ll keep updating all of these lists over time, so keep this page bookmarked!

Follow the links below to see the companies in the category of your choice:

Clothing and Accessories (Online)

Beauty, Home, Sewing, Etc. (Online)

Ethical Shopping, by City

I recently bought a few products from some of these companies, so stay tuned for my review posts.

In the meantime, if you have your own list of favorite swoon-worthy conscientious brands, I’d love to read your comments below!

Love,

P.S: Some of the websites in these lists were first mentioned in this post and this more recent post on ethical holiday shopping. This page is also a more concise version of this post (where I act as a web design critic for all of two seconds).

Disclaimer: I was not compensated in any way to write about any organizations or businesses that I have mentioned. This post expresses my honest opinions.
